Salomé (2010)

Salomé (2010)

This piece was loosely inspired by the biblical story of Salomé – a beautiful young lady who seduced her stepfather in order to murder a saint. The random swirls are an abstract representation of the famous ‘dance of the seven veils’ that she performed for King Herod while the red splodge at the bottom depicts the blood that was spilled when John the Baptist was decapitated.
